In a democratic political system the
Legislature creates platform for the elected
representatives to represent people's interest and
aspirations before the government and the Press becomes
the eyes and ears of the public. Therefore, a harmonious
consensus between both the Legislature and the Press is
required to enhance the prestige and dignity of the
Legislature. In order to realise this objective,
orientation programmes are conducted for the accredited
media persons on reporting Legislative business of the
House effectively without encroaching on the legislative
powers and privileges.
