Was, C.P.I.(M) Local Committee Member; President, Cheruvandoor Nallalam Grama Panchayat (1979-84); Member and Standing Committee Chairman, Kozhikode District Council (1990); Member District Panchayat from 1996 and served two and half years as its Vice-President; Elected to District Panchayat again in October 2000 and continued the post till June 2001; Director, Farook Service Co-operative Bank from 1978 to 1998.

Now, Director, Co-operative Homeo Hospital, Kozhikode.
