Shri Melute Krishnan Menon; born at Kuttur on June 3, 1941; B.Sc., B.L.; Advocate, Social and Political Worker.
Entered Politics through Students' Movement; was (i) Secretary (1958-59) and Chairman (1959-60) of College Union, Sree Kerala Varma College, Trichur; (2) Magazine Editor, Law College, Ernakulam; (3) District Secretary of the undivided Congress (1967-69).
Took an active part in religious and cultural activities; served as; Member, N.S.S. Director Board (1975-84); General Secretary, N.D.P. (1978-84); Chairman, N.D.P. (1984-86).
Associated with Literary Movement for the last 40 years, Legal Advisor in various institutions and Banks. President, Trichur District Printing and Publishing Co-operative Society (Kairali).
Was Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from June 27, 1995 to May 28, 1996.
